It was a windy day
When my hat blew away.
When the windows banged so hard;
The mice were scared away!
It was a windy day
When the wind howled,
And when mother sat at the window
And scowled!
Then, low and behold,
To the joy of our eyes,
The sun came out
And made everything look nice!
Mother rushed to the window,
To laugh and to cry;
And everyone went out
To tell the wind and the rain goodbye!
So that was the story
Of the windy day;
When my brand new hat,
Was blown away!
